Allocash Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 September 2026
Allocash is a free budgeting app that keeps your data in your own Google Drive. These terms set out what you can expect from Allocash (“we”, “us”) and what we ask of you. The short version: Allocash is free and provided as is. It helps you plan your money, but you are responsible for checking your figures, and your bank is the source of truth.
Agreeing to these terms
By signing in to Allocash you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not sign in.
What Allocash is
Allocash is an envelope-budgeting tool. You import transactions you have exported from your internet banking and allocate your money across virtual accounts. It is free to use.
Allocash does not connect to your bank, move money, or make payments. It only helps you keep track.
Allocash does not give financial advice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation to save, spend, borrow or invest in any particular way.
Your figures are yours to check
Allocash works from the transactions you import and the allocations you make. It may contain errors, and imported files can be incomplete or misread.
- Check important figures against your bank before acting on them. If Allocash and your bank disagree, your bank is right.
- Allocash’s balances are a budgeting view, not a statement of what is in your bank account.
Your data and keeping it safe
Your budgeting data is stored only in a private app-data area of your own Google Drive. There is no copy anywhere else: Allocash has no server, so we cannot see your data, and we cannot recover it for you if it is lost.
- Google Drive is provided by Google under Google’s terms, not ours.
- Your data is yours to protect. The Data Backup section in Settings lets you download a copy at any time. We recommend you do so regularly.
- You can delete your data or revoke Allocash’s access at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Provided as is
Allocash is provided free, as is and as available. We do not promise that it is error-free, that it will always be available, or that it will suit your needs. It may change, break or be discontinued at any time, and Google may change the services it depends on.
If we decide to discontinue Allocash, we will post a notice at allocash.co.nz beforehand where we reasonably can, so that you have time to download your data.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable to you for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, Allocash. This includes loss from financial decisions you make using the app, loss of data, and loss from Allocash being unavailable, changed or discontinued. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit or savings.
Your rights under New Zealand law
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you use Allocash for business purposes, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, as that Act permits.
Acceptable use
Use Allocash for your own budgeting. Do not:
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to Allocash or the services it runs on;
- use it for anything unlawful;
- copy Allocash or present it as your own.
Ending your use of Allocash
You can stop using Allocash at any time by revoking its access from your Google Account’s third-party connections page. Your data stays in your Google Drive until you delete it, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or end access to Allocash, for everyone or for you, at any time, including if you breach these terms.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use Allocash after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
